Hi, I'm Kara a freelance photographer based in Swansea, South Wales.

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Some of my favourite childhood memories are heading out with my granddad photographing wildlife and landscapes. Those little adventures sparked a passion that never really left me.

What started as a hobby eventually became a degree and today it's my full-time career.

I love that no two days are ever the same. One day I could be photographing an international rugby match, the next a business event, a live concert or a local school celebration. Every job has its own story to tell and that's what keeps photography exciting for me.

My Journey

In 2020, I graduated from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David with a degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography.

During my studies I spent a semester at California State University, Long Beach. It was an incredible experience that challenged me creatively and helped shape my passion for sports photography while giving me the opportunity to learn in a completely different environment.

Before university, I also completed an Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production, where I developed skills in filmmaking, editing and visual storytelling.

I'm always keen to keep learning, so in 2025 I completed a Level 3 Diploma in Digital Marketing. Understanding branding, marketing and social media helps me create photography that not only looks great but also works for businesses and organisations.

After working within the photography industry for several years, I took the leap into full-time freelance photography in 2025 and I haven't looked back.

What I Photograph

Sport is where I spend most of my time and it's probably where you'll find me most weekends.

I've photographed Championship football, Swansea City academy fixtures, Welsh international football and rugby matches, URC rugby, Premier League Darts, enduros, marathons, triathlons and 10K races.

Alongside sport, I also work with businesses, organisations and event organisers across South Wales covering:

• Digital advertising campaigns

I enjoy the variety that freelancing brings and I approach every job with the same goal: creating natural, authentic images that capture the moment.

Although I'm based in Swansea, I'm happy to travel throughout South Wales and beyond.

I hold a full UK driving licence, making it easy to cover assignments wherever they're needed. If your organisation requires a DBS check I'm happy to arrange one.
